Hi, my name is Rocket Scientista, I am a graduate student, and I make poor life decisions.
But really. I’m a twenty-something astrophysics PhD student, learning to be a rocket scientist, trying to make sense of my life, the universe and everything.
This blog will chronicle just about everything and is lacking in focus, much like me. Some general things about me- I am a part-time instructor at the local science museum, I speak German (really poorly), I bake & cook, I play guitar, I love rock n’ roll, and I make lists like a mad person. I’m married to a wonderful rocker/copywriter, Mad Man. I’m so obsessed with what I do that I made my husband go sight-seeing to a TELESCOPE on our honeymoon. I own not one, but two copies of Contact (both the book AND the movie, but one of each was a gift, so Pffft). I apparently like to make slightly embarrassing statements.
I like beer. The everyday progress (or lack thereof) of my science makes me like beer more, but I’m still a real cheap date. Coffee courses through my veins, chocolate is my friend.
I call myself a rebel without a solution set. Sometimes I have purple hair, always I have many piercings. I try to confound expectations. I mostly manage to do that, even my own expectations of myself.
